Common questions
Water is coming in at the eaves right now — what do I do?
Call. If water is inside, we treat it like any emergency and stop it first, then deal with the dam and the cause.
Why steam instead of chipping the ice off?
Chipping and shovelling damage shingles and eavestroughs. Steam melts the dam off without touching the roof.
Why does my house get ice dams every winter?
The roof is losing heat. Snow melts from below, runs down to the cold eave, refreezes, and the ridge grows with every cycle.
Will the dam just come back next year?
If only the ice is removed, probably. The lasting fix is the cause — ventilation, insulation, and shield coverage at the eaves.
