An aging roof rarely fails all at once
Shingles at the end of their life let water in a little at a time. Left alone, that can lead to:
A rotted roof deck
Wet insulation
Mold in the attic
Stained ceilings and walls
Repairs that cost more than they should
If your shingles are curling, losing granules, or the roof is simply at the end of its life, it’s worth a proper inspection before water finds a way in.
What a replacement includes
A written quote, spelled out
Shield coverage, underlayment, vent type, nail count — on paper before anything starts.
Tear-off to bare deck
The old roof comes off down to the plywood. Beds, walls and landscaping are tarped first.
Deck inspection
Every sheet inspected and photographed before anything new goes down. You get a call before any decking is replaced.
The full rebuild
Shield, underlayment, drip edge, starter, field, vent, cap. In that order, with no layer skipped.
Cleanup
Magnetic sweep of the driveway, lawn and gardens for nails. Twice.
Aftercare
Photo set, warranty paperwork, and a direct number. If something isn’t right in the first two years, we come back.

The person doing the work
You deal with Dan
I started Summit Ridge Roofing here in Markham in 2011. We don’t use subcontractors — the crew that quotes your roof is the crew that does the work. You get a written estimate before anything starts, photos when it’s finished, and a direct number if something isn’t right.

How the job runs
01 — Tell us what’s going on
Call, text or request an estimate online. Describe what you’re seeing — photos help.
02 — We assess the problem
We come out, get on the roof where it’s safe to, and find the cause — not just the symptom.
03 — Get your options
We explain what needs to be done and give you a written estimate. If it’s a repair, we’ll tell you it’s a repair.
04 — We fix it
The crew completes the work and cleans up afterward.
Common questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most Markham semis and two-storeys are a one to two day job.
How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on the size, the pitch, and what we find on the deck. You get a written quote with the assembly spelled out — shield coverage, underlayment, vent type, nail count.
Do I actually need a whole new roof?
Not always. A stain on the ceiling is almost never a dead roof. We diagnose first — if it’s a repair, we’ll tell you it’s a repair.
Will you replace rotted plywood?
We inspect and photograph every sheet during tear-off, and we call you before replacing any decking — nothing gets covered up or added to the bill silently.
What happens to the old roof?
It’s hauled away, with bins gone the same day where the schedule allows. We magnetically sweep the driveway, lawn and gardens for nails — twice.
Is the work guaranteed?
You get the photo set, the warranty paperwork, and a direct number. If something isn’t right in the first two years, we come back.
What areas do you service?
We work across Markham, Unionville, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, Vaughan, Scarborough and North York.
